Netflix is lame, HD DVD is dead I guess
Got an email from Netflix that they will be going exclusively with Blu Ray.
Guess I was wrong about the 2 formats coexisting. Now what will I do with this HD DVD player I got for Christmas? Sell it on eBay as a collector's item?

I thought HD would win out over blu ray, but alas it seems to have turned out the other way. I haven't committed to a new player for either format yet, but I guess it'll be blu ray when I do? Can u still play "old skool" dvds on a blu ray player? or are you SOL?

Normal DVDs play on it... in fact, it does a really good job of upconverting them. Guess that's reason enough to leave it hooked up for now.

I started this conversation with my father but most of my family still finds comfort with the ever-dropping price of VHS tapes, even with the wide 65 inch screen I left for my mother she still purchases on-sale full screen DVD's. Just recently she admits she can tell a difference in the quality... oyebay some people just can't fully appreciate technology. So blue-ray it is, I can't wait to come back to a world with surround sound and 1080i whatever the format.

I am half way through, things we REALLY awful to begin with I was woring outside the wire with full body armor working with Iraqi's and crap I had this orange dirt ring that people who do real work tend to get... now I am properly placed as the Arrival/Departer Air Control Group NCOIC and the ring (and armor) have went away. I'm going to be home for a wedding the first few days of November I may stop by if I don't have to rush right back on a jet.
