Theres a link with the rendering of the Amusement Park and the other phases that will be constructed but I can't find the link I saw it at yesterday. The exact location in Dothan will be announced in the coming weeks and they said the major ribbon cutting of phase 1 will be cut around this time next year. With the opening of Pier Park, the new air port, and now this, this area of the US is really taking off.

Great news for Dothan! Can't believe I haven't heard about "Country Crossing" before now. A mini-Branson will work very well in this area.

Don't forget about Alabama Motorsports Park near Mobile, AL.... opening 2009/2010!

Yea they have been pretty mum about it until this past week. I'm surprised I haven't heard about it until now since I work for an architect firm. We usually hear about everything way before anyone else does.

I for one can't wait for the Alabama MSP to open :D

While I'm glad for the folks in Dothan & the new jobs that will obviously bring, driving thru' Dothan on our way to PCB is a big enough headache as it is without adding a "mini-Branson" to the mix. I know there are ways around Dothan, but if you get behind a farmer on one of those 2 lanes, you're done! They need to build a by-pass around the city for folks heading further south!

They are already planning on fixing that problem. They are going to start 6-laning Ross Clark Circle soon and an I-10 connector that will go on the outskirts of the city. They are also in talks of 6-laning 231. The exact location of Country Crossings will be announced in the coming days but its pretty much guaranteed to be on 231 south. Once the location is set, they will start working on the roads.
