Icon6 Orange Beach, AL...

Alright, so I'm heading to Orange Beach, AL with the g/f and a few others for a concert THEY wanted to go see...I could care less about the concert. I've searched around and wondered if any of my fellow TS folks knew anything about the place. I've never been personally, but I've driven through many times.

Any advice on things to check out, sights to see, etc...?

Orange Beach, AL . . . INFO

The below two websites give you some info about the area, events and nightlife. Without knowing more about what you and your friends like I would hate to give you detailed info. Give me some ideas of info you are looking for and I should be able to give you some specific places you would enjoy. It is a great place to visit and live, I have lived in the area all my life.
Are you all coming to a concert at the Wharf?
Do you have the place you are staying set?

Well I'm 21, the g/f is 22 and the rest are around the same age... To be honest, I enjoy just about anything historical, stuff like that. Everyone else thats coming like just about anything and are coming just to have a good time. As far as bars go, I like going to a club or two but I'm more of a Sports Bar type person...

And yea we're going to see a concert at the Wharf...Actually we're staying there too. Got a waterfront condo. Thanks for the links BTW!

Be sure to visit FloraBama Bar, you have to go if you are in the area, just to tell everyone you have been. It is a hole in the wall, but a fun place. They are having the Annual Mullet Toss this weekend. A bunch of drunks throwing dead mullet across the FL/AL state line, all for a good cause.

Most visitors love going to LuLus, Jimmy Buffet's sisters restuarant and bar, it is about 4 miles from the Wharf in Gulf Shores. Go down canal rd te Gulf Shores, when you get to Highway 59 you will go North over the bridge turn right at the foot of the bridge, then take the first road on the right and you will start seeing cars. Long waits, but decent food and great atmosphere.

Rafters is a cool Sports Bar on the 2nd level at the Wharf. Live Bait at the Wharf is nice and so is Live Bait 2 on the beach road. VIP lounge is on Canal Road not far from the Wharf.
Historic Fort Morgan is about 25 miles from where you are staying. The famous saying "Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead" was uttered at this Fort. I am sure there is a link to the Fort at the CVB site I sent earlier. You can actually Tour thru the fort.
Hope you all enjoy the area.

For a nice, semi-upscale dinner, go eat at Louisianna Lagniappe at the San Roc Cay Marina near the FL-AL state line.

It's a must-go place for my bunch when we are there.

Wow, made it back from my trip. I wish I would have taken more pictures because I didn't really take many in the first place. LOL We had an AWESOME time. I'll def. be going back because I didn't get to experience everything I wanted to check out, including Rafters and such. We had a room on the 5th floor, right in the middle of the Wharf so every day I could walk out on our balcony (extremely spacious btw) and watch the live band play right below me at Guy Harvey's. I was also a big fan of the fact that our room was really nice and we had a nice gas grill on our balcony (which we used several times).

I was a little disappointed with the indoor putt putt. It looked like the ghetto of putt putt courses when we got in there, but we were so drunk already we didn't really care. Plus it was raining real bad on Sunday so it gave us something to do. All in all, the Wharf was really nice and it was a nice change from PC for once. I'll have to post more up later on everything we did.
