Hey Beachnut, Ridge here. The post about AT&T and Verizon are right on. We have used both during our visits. We drive from Cookeville through Alabama and never have a problem. Don't know what kind of phone you are looking for but when we signed up with Verizon we went through a local Wal-mart because they had a much better deal on the phones. Being on the frugal (cheap) side I look for free phones and Wal-mart had a better selection than Verizon had either here or on line. Hope this helps. Have a good one!
