Myrtle Beach weddings

This was posted in another forum topic and I wanted to move it to the right subheading so people can find it.

Lots of locals choose to have their wedding on the beach by simply renting an ocean front beach house. Litus has good ones. Ask for Chris at 843-448-9000. They enjoyed having the ceremony and reception at the same place and the people that came to the wedding had a place to stay. I think most of them run about 500 a night for a huge oceanfront place but that's just what I'm remembering ... I could be wrong!

There are great places that cater weddings.

Southern Market - they can do all kinds of reception food...especially 'pick up' food like shrimp cocktail and little sandwiches. (You can ask for Jens - sounds like Yens- and he can help you there)

Jimmy's Japanese- depending on what theme you go with or what your taste buds are ...this is a great choice. They cater a wonderful menu of steak, chicken, shrimp with rice and vegetables. It's just like the meals you get at those awesome Japanese places where they cook in front of you ....but instead ..they come to you.

As for getting cheap flowers...
Check out Sam's Club on 10th avenue. There is a nice girl named Lori that will help you purchase bulk flowers and if you need her to she is great with arranging flowers or doing the bouquet, etc. They are so cheap!!!

I also suggest Bright and Beautiful at the Galleria. They do great work and they did wonderful arrangements for my wedding. Their prices aren't bad.

If you want a wedding planner...which might be a good idea since you're not here.

Cheryl Cox is THE wedding planner in Myrtle Beach. She is usually booked at least a year in advance but she will steer you in the right direction to find someone that is a professional wedding planner. She runs the Wedding Showcase that is in January every year.

If you haven't found your dress or tux.... the only placed I'd suggest is Amanda's Collection in downtown Conway. (It should be on your way to the beach) Her number is 843-248-3277. They are the locals choice and have a huge selection of traditional and beach styles. They are run my a mother/daughter team that are a joy to work with and they have helped many brides that have come down for the weekend to get married.

Photographers....
I'd suggest Benton Henry 843-752-9999
or Gene Ho 843-450-8923.

Ok. These little ideas should get you started. I have three friends getting married in the next six months so if I don't know... they will! Feel free to ask!
