Ocean Drive Resort is in North Myrtle Beach. Actually it's a good place to be because most college age students rent places there instead of on the Blvd in Myrtle Beach.
If you want to be closer to clubs like Club Kryptonite or Broadway at the Beach then you need to stay in Myrtle Beach.
If you want the best of both worlds, stay in North Myrtle and hang out with people from all kinds of colleges and when you want to go clubbing call a cab. (Tropical Taxi is 267-7778)
Hope that helps!

Another night scene you have to see while you're on Spring Break is the boulevard. The nightclub Freaky Tiki has been one of the most popular spots for the party crowd for years.

Colleges
Myrtle Beach gets a lot of the North and South Carolina schools and some in Virginia and Georgia. Some examples of the colleges that have 'breaked' here in the past five years are Wake Forest, UNC, USC, Presbyterian, Wofford, Clemson, NC State, UGA, Davidson, Elon, Washington & Lee, UVA, etc.

The area code is 843 for the Coastal Region of SC.
As for things to do.... what do YOU like to do? How old are you? Who will you be traveling with? Then I can guide you to something you might like here.

I like to enjoy the beach and ocean. I like going to clubs or hearing live bands and having a good time out and about. I'm 22 and I will be travelling alone. I'm also looking for suggestions of hotels to look into possibly booking a room at. Thanks.

I'm not sure when you'll be here but check the House of Blues' website (I think it's hob.com) and see who's playing.
Bummz is a beach bar that has live music. They're located around 20th avenue in Myrtle Beach.
Also, Broadway at the Beach has live music in their Celebrity Square. Blarneystone's has a house band, Croc Rocks has dueling pianos, and there is a live band at the three in one club -Celebrations. I
I'd stay in North Myrtle Beach if you come during college Spring Break time... if you don't come until summer stay near the Blvd in Myrtle Beach.

I was at Freaky Tiki last night, and it was around 10 girls to every guy!
I've been all over the world and I believe the group on nightclubs we have here right now are as fun as any I've been to.
You're really missing out if you don't hit these clubs again in the next few weeks.
