Summer In New Orleans
It's a great time of year to visit New Orleans, y'all.....
I just got a hotel room for a friend at $99/night at the Monteleone Hotel. The rates there during peak season are around $250.00/night! Get 'em while they're hot! There's also the Satchmo Summerfest coming Aug 1 -3 at the Old US Mint in the French Quarter. So, if you missed out on Jazz Fest, Essence Fest and Mardi Gras this year....You still have a chance to experience 'true' New Orleans culture, food and music. I went last year and it was great. You can even go inside the Mint into the A/C to view exhibits and other interesting stuff. -Gene
