Mardi Gras is early this year....!! Tuesday, February 8th is Fat Tuesday.
This being my 38th CONSECUTIVE Mardi Gras, I can't remember it coming this early in the year. Brrrrr. I've often counted on Mardi Gras to be my first sunburn of the new year....not in 2005, I guess.
With Mardi Gras falling just 5 weeks after New Years Day and 4 weeks after The Sugar Bowl...it's easy to say that New Orleans is going to be a great place to visit this winter.
Also, Jazz Fest is, as always, the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May.

I can't seem to remember much from my Mardi Gras experiences! HA! Maybe it was all the over-indulgence...

Mardi Gras is a great time as you can imagine. We just put up a new article - A Guide to New Orleans... - which mentions all kinds of things to do and see in New Olreans while you're there for the big party.
