Benefit Concert at Destin Commons

September 3, 2005
A major Katrina community relief concert is in the works…

Gulf Coast Relief Concert
Saturday & Sunday ▪ September 17 & 18 ▪ 4 – 10 p.m.
$25/Day Adults ▪ $5 Kids 10 and Under
$40/2-Day Admission Adults • $8 Kids 10 and Under
Area Katrina Evacuees ▪ Free
Proceeds benefit Katrina victims via United Way and the Red Cross
Hosted by Destin Commons
- Major national and well known local entertainers to perform – to be announced
- Saturday – Pop, Blues & Rock Day
- Sunday – Inspirational Gospel & Northwest Florida Symphony Day
- A massive sound and stage system will be constructed in the parking lot in front of the Destin Commons clock tower. The entire front parking section will be blocked off with attendees bringing chairs and blankets
- Overflow parking off-site with free public bus transportation provided – parking locations to be announced.
- Destin Commons’ owners, Turnberry Associates and Legendary, Inc. and Coins For A Cause, as well as area business will donate a minimum of $100,000 to the Red Cross at the Gulf Coast Relief Concert.
- Throughout the month of September, Destin Commons will serve as a drop-off location for non-perishable food, health & beauty supplies and clothing. This effort being provided by the Salvation Army and Eglin Air Force Base. These collections will be on-going and provide immediate relief to Katrina victims. Stores will also be collecting monetary donations to directly benefit the Red Cross relief efforts.

This will be a major fundraiser being orchestrated to provide immediate benefit to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Any immediate advance publicity your media outlet can provide is greatly appreciated. We will provide more detailed information via press releases by week’s end.
