In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, United Way agencies were among the first to step up and help the evacuees arriving in our area seeking safety. Now, those agencies need our help.
If, after you have made your pledge to the United Way Annual Campaign, you feel that you can afford to give ABOVE & BEYOND your normal giving, make your extra designation to: Agency 9001 - Local Katrina Response Fund.

Manuel & Thompson, P.A., is again hosting our September 11th Memorial Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, September 16, 2004, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at our office located at 314 Magnolia Avenue. We would like to encourage all of your staff to join us in helping give the Agift of life@ through blood donation. Due to Hurricane Katrina, the need for blood has increased significantly over the last few weeks. But sadly, the national blood supply is low.
We are challenging all area businesses, as well as government offices in the downtown area to help by donating blood. We will provide a small token of appreciation to all of those individuals who participate.
We thank you for the great response last year and request that you please encourage your staff and co-workers to participate this year. Please encourage your staff to sign up ahead of time by calling 785-5555 so that waiting time will be minimal. A photo ID is required before any blood can be given. Again, we will have the ARC Bloodmobile on site and additional Red Cross personnel to speed up the process. The time requirement is minimal and the gift will last a lifetime.
