Crescent City Comeback

Mayor C. Ray Nagin has formed a special commission of business and community leaders to advise city officials on rebuilding. The Bring New Orleans Back Commission members are: Co-Chairs Mel Lagarde and Barbara Major, Boysie Bollinger, Kim Boyle,Cesar Burgos, Joe Canizaro, Doctor Scott Cowen, Archbishop Alfred Hughes, the Rev. Fred Luter, Wynton Marsalis, Alden McDonald, Dan Packer, Anthony Patton, Jimmy Reiss, Gary Solomon, Oliver Thomas and David White.

IMPORTANT For those traveling to NO:
Hotels and some businesses are providing guests and patrons with safe water via large temporary tanks.The 70130 zip code area, which includes the CBD, the Warehouse and Arts District and parts of the French Quarter and Uptown, is expected to have potable water within 50 days

Hotel openings
Friday afternoon, the JW Marriott New Orleans raised its flag above the Canal Street hotel, signifying that the first of Marriott's 15 hotels in the city has officially re-opened. Six more of the fifteen will re-open over the next few days to help return tourism to the city.
