WOW!!!!!!! Voodoo Fest was insane! Rage was incredible... probably the best concert I've been to! It's all still sinking in and we're still recovering... but, I got some good pics and decent video to share. We'll post it this week.

BTW - Bourbon Street was crazy! Packed shoulder to shoulder in most places! Halloween in NOLA will be an annual visit for us now! What a wonderful and great time to visit the Big Easy!

Voodoo was AMAZING! I'm not going to say that the Pumpkins were dull, but its got to be tough to follow Rage. I've got some great pics as well.

ROCK AND ROLL is here to stay!! VOODOO Kicked butt!!
For you non-locals rumor has it that Rage played so loud people who lived in old Metairie called and complained so they had to turn Smashing PUmkins down. NOW that is just RUMOR I can't confirm it, but it makes sense - Smashing Pumkins sound was really off the first few songs. but the acuostic songs ROCKED
Halloween ALWAYS rocks in New Orleans!!

Now THAT is cool!! My ears are still ringing... we were about 30 yards from the stage. (did you notice they had the speaker cabinets pointed toward the center of the stage instead of toward the audience?)

Rage was awesome! Steve, did you go all three days? I agree, sound was off for most of the Pumpkins, but not as badly as Fallout Boy. Gym Class Heroes was my surprise of the weekend, I thought they were great! Check the gallery for my New Orleans pics, I'm slowing getting them uploaded!

Spent all Saturday nite on Bourbon, great pics... didn't see you Steve, were you in drag??

(B, sorry you couldn't make it, missed you! )

Trish, we left Sunday morning. We really only went to see RATM and SP. Plus, we had some things going on Monday morning. Some friends stayed Sunday and said Wilco and Kings of Leon were great.

Now that the hangover is gone and I've had time to think about it... Rage was my favorite concert EVER!

Here are some photos from the weekend:

Voodoo Fest 2007 Photos & Pics

Halloween 2007, New Orleans, Bourbon Street

French Quarter, New Orleans

Attached are the high-res versions of a few of my favorites!

One pic is a wide shot of the stage during Smashing Pumpkins... the full moon was rising from behind the stage... together with the spotlight and SP live it was very surreal.

The crowd shot was during Rage... when they lit up the audience and you looked back, it appeared there was a sea of people all the way to the stage on the other side!

And, WOW, was Bourbon Street packed Saturday night!

Enjoy!

We also went mainly for Rage and the Pumpkins, but ended up at Voodoo all day Sunday and had the most amazing time.

Saturday night was amazing. My close friend weighs about a buck 10 and has been to New Orleans before, she put down three hand grenades in about an hour and a half. Not being a candy and PGA girl myself (except Hunch Punch ) I stuck with Jack and Coke all night and as such was designated picture-taker. I have some incriminating video footage that is unbelievably funny, and lets just say its a good thing you don't have a light back there in Exchange Alley on your webcam...
