Big News for NOTV and Tripsmarter... stay tuned... looks like we might have an inside contact for this festival. We are working on it! Keep your fingers crossed, cos we may have some TICKETS! It's gonna be an incredible year - and I've been in New Orleans since January 2007 - living in the Quarter. The city has never been more fun or more affordable.

Got my tix... just to let everyone know, some great acts added to the lineup, Black Crowes, Fallout Boy, Paulo Nutini, Plain White T's, the list is huge!!!

So now where to stay?

does the Harrah's Casino have a hotel now? or is it still stand alone?

They have a hotel and it's a doozy! (or is that doosy?) ... Anyway, it's a beautiful hotel - my favorite bar is right across the street, too - The Swizzle Stick bar at Lowes... try the "Corpse Reviver" after a long day of losing your money at the casino! (smile)

We decided on the Monteleone. It was a choice between Hotel Monteleone, La Pavillion and the RC. In the end, the location, spa and the bar swung it.

... well, if anything was going to swing my vote, that bar might do it! It's awesome!

That's what I kept hearing too! While my friend has been before, its my first trip to New Orleans, and long overdue!!! So far on the list is Cafe Dumont for breakfast, drinking our way through the French Quarter, and possibly the Halloween haunt tour. Anything else I need to see or do?

Finally a schedule for Voodoo Fest! Can't believe they wait so long before they release the schedule. How hard can it be to schedule several dozen bands? (j/k!)

Nine days until New Orleans!

The time has come my friends to talk of many things...
Like Pumkins being Smashed, Tshirts being dirtied, and Old 80's Rock stars to come into the stage light again!
I don't know who or what I am more exicted for VOODOO Fest,
but let me give you a locals tips- Checkout BINGO They ROCK you will love them, they are so good they got two nights! Other great local bands playing is my other favorite Kermit Ruffins and Henry Butler. A not to miss is Mad Mike, he will crack you up! If you like eletronic music Quinton and Miss *****cat are the real deal!
So get ready to ROCK cause the city of New Orleans is in full gear to "party like rock stars" for the next few weeks!
