Clean the Quarter

Visitors to New Orleans may have noticed small blue tractors making their way through the Quarter recently, blasting away with high-pressure cleaning sprays... given the volume of visitors the French Quarter receives, and the volume of drinks spilled on the streets, many FQ businesses and residents have joined with the city gov't to clean things up.

What did you think on your last NOLA visit? Was the French Quarter clean enough? Or did it need a thorough hosing down?

I haven't seen the blue tractors yet. They are a good idea though! Even though there were street cleaners coming through the Quarter whenever we've been there they could have used some help. The Quarter is old, so it looks dirtier than it is even in the best of circumstances, so anything to help keep it cleaner is good.

It depends on where you are. Some parts of the FrenchQuarter always look clean and neat. Some always look dirty no matter what they do. The shot from the live cam here always looks clean.

Cool Live cam!

Live cam? Did someone say "live cam?" Have you seen it lately? It's incredible! I've got say *blows own horn* that our NOLA live cam is one of the fastest streaming cams I've ever seen, and the view is uber-New Orleans.

I mean, take a look at that street scene! It's like something out of a movie... ok, I may be a bit prejudiced, but I think it's just outstanding!
