Exclamation Live Cam

Our Exchange Alley live cam has got to be one of the fastest streaming live cams on the web! You can watch people walk along the street, flags flap in the breeze, meals being served at outside cafes - it's like being there!

Take a look for yourself!

Cool

That's the truth. It's such a clear picture too. Man I gotta get back to the big easy! Next time I'm there I'll check out that outdoor restaurant and hold up a sign saying hi to everyone!

Do SmokinJoe, do... it's fun seeing people goofing off for the live cam. 'Course it's fun watching people who are just wandering down the street too. Yesterday I saw a group going to some party or play or something. All of 'em were dressed capes and feathered hats. Who know? Fun to speculate though.

Just took a glance at the live cam and it's looking great in the French Quarter today. Bright sunny skies and people wandering along the street going about their business or just sightseeing.

Take a look for yourself!

I couldn't take it any more and had to see the Quarter again. Wow. It is about 8 and the street looks all dark and gloomy and cool with the streetlamps lit. Man I have got to get back to new orleans!

Exchange Alley Live Cam

You're right!
Compared with so many 'static' live cams out there, the Exchange Alley cam offers a voyeuristic perspective into the French Quarter lifestyle.
Lately I've seen several people make note of the cam and get on their cell phone, presumably, to call friends/family back home to check them out in N'awlins!
Bourbon St and Royal St are not the only places to stroll in the French Quarter. There are several fine galleries and restaurants on Exchange Alley.
I like to refer to "The Alley" as an un-touched old-world nook of the French Quarter. It's really not changed in 180 years!
Not many places in the Wester Hemisphere can make that claim!

Stop in at the NOTV offices to say hello if you're making your way.
As a local, I'd be happy to point you to a few 'locals only' places.....the kind of places that make N.O. a truly unique and special place to live.
DIRECTIONS: Exchange Alley is located between Royal, Chartres, Bienville and Conti Streets in the FQ. The 4 story yellow bldg on the Mississippi River side of the alley (next door to the WONDERFUL Pelican Club Restaurant.
Bye for now.....

rejennings....FQ Music

You're right, not very many places in the FQ have authentic Blues/Jaz music every night.
However, the House of Blues is a good place to check out. See their concert schedule online at www.hob.com.
Also, there's Snug Harbor just outside the FQ on Frenchman Street with live music. Also Blue Nile is a relatively new place that's got some good stuff going on. Also, try the Maple Leaf bar Uptown in Carrollton. It's just a couple block off the St Charles Ave streetcar line on Maple Street. Be careful at night though around there and don't LOOK like a tourist with an expensive camera and a fat wallet hanging out of your pocket when going to the Maple Leaf. Sometimes that area can seem a little rough around the edges.
Have a nice visit. Hope you make it here soon!

Our live cam in the French Quarter is streaming like crazy! I just watched a couple of people walking down Exchange Alley, talking and gesturing, and it was lilke I was looking out the window! Their movements were captured just that well.

Take a look for yourself and let us know what you see!

The BEST live cam in New Orleans just got BETTER!!! Our Exchange Alley livecam from New Orleans has been upgraded to a faster stream with better quality!!!

The livecam is located at the NOTV offices on Exchange Alley (about 2 blocks from Bourbon Street). Gene's description of The Alley (see above) is perfect. It really gives off that Old World vibe that The Big Easy is famous for...

You will want to bookmark this page so you can revisit the livecam during Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, etc.

Finally some sun in NOLA...

Looks like New Orleans is getting a little sun today. Maybe it will dry up all the rain they've had over the past few weeks.

Check it out on TripSmarter.Com's Exchange Alley livecam from New Orleans, LA

Our live cam from Exchange Alley in New Orleans reminds me of this 19th century painting:

Edouard Manet. The Road-Menders, Rue de Berne. 1878
