Mardi Gras
A group of us are thinking about heading to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. That's nothing new
We talk about it every year!! Maybe we'll go this year-- who knows? Just thinking, when the last chance to get a hotel room during Mardi Gras?

Hotel Rooms for Mardi Gras 2003
I'm sure there's rooms available for Mardi Gras right now, almost anywhere you want.
They're a bit pricey, the closer you get to Bourbon St. But, if you want a room it's going to probably require a 4-5 night-minimum. One of the best hotels to stay at is the Royal Sonesta on Bourbon St. Ask how much a Bourbon St Balcony room is. It's fun to watch all of the mayhem from above! If you want something outside the French Quarter, the rooms are going to be less expensive. Staying in the Warehouse District is a VERY cool option, because you're close to the FQ and lots of the big parades pass within a couple blocks of your hotel......Give those a try...Marriott Courtyard, Embassy Suites....Just to name a couple. -Gene |

Thanks now I've got some ammo to use with my friends!! It's still going to be an uphill struggle-- trying to get them to do something!
I hadn't thought about WHICH hotel yet!

I usually don't do this, but here's the link to our NO Hotels pay particular attention to our smartpicks, they help keep our site going. http://www.tripsmarter.com/neworlean...ions/index.htm
We're also very excited about a new service we're offering--some pretty great pre-negotiated rates at some area hotels. more info can be found here: happy hunting, tell a friend

We've got the tentative parade dates for 2003 online, maybe that'll help you convince your friends teach4life! Mardi Gras is just too cool to miss!
Click here for the Parade Schedule. I say the parade schedule is tentative because it doesn't get finalized until late December or early January... but there are usually just minor changes. And you know we'll keep you informed of those! |

It's looking rough. I don't know if I can get these sticks-in-the-mud to get moving in time to get everything together for a trip to Mardi Gras! You would think that Mardi Gras would be enough to get anyone excited. Oh well, maybe I'll visit by myself!

Good luck getting your friends to go along with you... and if they don't, you're right - go alone! Then they'll be jealous AND you'll have a great time!
Keep checking back, we're going to add info as we get it! If you're wanting to see a bit of past Mardi Gras parties, take a look at our Mardi Gras photo galleries! |
