Cool GREAT trip to NO

Finally got the trip in with my son and it was fun!

We stopped in Ocean Springs on the way over and saw my cousin who runs the Tato Nut Shop in downtown. AWESOME donuts. Just ask Park after his three.

He proclaims them the best ever now with some pretty stiff competition. Ocean Springs is a great spot to stop in and shop, eat and tour. LOTS going on in this little hamlet.

Drove over to Biloxi and stopped in the Ole Biloxi Schooner for Po-Boys too. New Orleans has NOTHING on these sandwiches in the old Rosettis building I grew up in with my Papa. I had the crabmeat and Park went for the Cheeseburger. Skipped the gumbo this trip BUT it is fantastic.

Now for NO....check in at the New Marriott near the convention center. Nice place w/ Starbucks in the lobby. YES!

Headed for IMAX and saw the late show of 3-D Safari. Very entertaining and informative. Took my son to the threre story Virgin Records at Jax Brewery and he had a blast. We bought: As I Lay Dying, Bill Cosby and Little Feat: Waiting For Columbus. What a mix.

Due to steamy conditions we paid a cabby $10 to take us two blocks to Mr. B's for early dinner. NOW I am in MY element. Nice glass of Chard, bread in abag and fresh butter, the service, the food. I got the free form crab ravioli and it did not disappoint again this trip. Park got the filet mignon and was also transported straight to culinary heaven. Our app was a triangle of goat cheese in pyhllo with a nice sauce and applewood bacon. Not much there but tasty. We did save room for dessert this trip and PArk got the housemade profiteroles filoled with ice cream and doused with a chocolate sauce, while I opted for the Honeybee with meringue outside in a hive shape and housemade ice cream inside. A sort of mini baked Alaska. Had a nice cappuccino to finish the meal. Park proclaimed this a worthy stop on our trip.

I give it a 9.75 out of 10 this trip in with points off for lackuster sides and the smallish app.

Part two of our trip coming soon.
