Hey Esteem, I'd recommend Ampersand for cool, chic and classy. A bit of hip-hop, R&B, Reggae and techno it's the new club of choice of urban professionals. If you're into soul and southern cookin' then try Donna's Bar & Grill. It's in the 300 block of Rampart. Ampersand is on Tulane, don't remember where exactly.

I've heard some good things about D'Plex. Haven't been tho.

Ampersand is the bomb! Definitely check it out Esteem. Never heard of the other places.

By the way, Preservation Hall is always kickin'. There's no bar or a/c but the line is out the door before the music starts at 8. Usually a serious crowd here. It's on St. Peters. I think in the 600 or 700 block. Just ask around someone will tell you where it is!
