A local charity called The Black Iron Skillet Project has been collecting and distributing seasoned frying pans, and Exchange Alley is publishing recipes in the local newspaper that readers say they lost in the storm in order to bring a little comfort, and recreate some of the old family tradition feelings for many families in the New Orleans area whose homes were destroyed during hurricane Katrina.
