I really like the area where the Provincial is better, but it's really just a personal choice. The MDP seems kind of far away from everything, to me anyway. It's beautiful and a nice place, but I like the Provincial better. Great area; quieter part of quarter toward Esplanade but not too far from the fun. Stella! and Irene's are both great restaurants right there. Chartres is a wonderful street as is Royal for shopping, people-watching, great food, etc. but not in the midst of Bourbon.
When are you going? Lucy

Provincial
...Going to Provincial in early June. Yes, we like it hot. Anyone else have a word about the Hotel Provincial..good, bad, indifferent?
We just want to be in the heart of the shops, restaurants, etc. Stayed on DuManine a couple of years ago near the French Market and loved it. Looks like the Provincial is basically located in the same area, unless I'm totally confused by the map. Also, while I'm at it..Is K-Pauls worth the price for dinner? Thanks for replies... |

Haven't been there in years, but understand that they have changed seating arrangement....no more big family style tables. In other words, you don't sit with people you don't know anymore. You get your own table, like other places.
Take care. |
