Below is a trail that leads to the beach at camp Helen State Park. If you plan to go all the way to the beach, travel very light and bring your lunch. It's a very long walk through deep sand.

This was on the west end of the beach. I don't know what kind of bird this is, but the splash behind it came out great in the shot.

From the looks of that bird it is a spotted sandpiper. We always see large ones and some small ones.

Someone on Flickr, where the picture is actually posted told me that it's a Willet. I looked them up and it turns out that is what it is.

Wow great shots. What kind of Camera are you shooting with?

Bryan, It's a Nikon Coolpix P100. I like some of the features a lot like the 26x optical zoom, HD video recording, slow motion video. But the blues and greens are actually a little dull I think. I have a cheap Pentax Optio E60 that while it doesn't take as sharp of pictures, the color saturation is much better. Cameras use internal software to handle things like color saturation, and white balance but I think next time I'll fix them myself with The GIMP to reproduce the vivid color before I upload them to Flickr. Problem is, I let anyone who wants to, use my pictures for free, so if I remove them and re-upload, people might lose pictures on their websites etc. I still think it's a good camera for the price though, and the GIMP is a free download.
