Beach trip 5 weeks away!

Counting down the weeks to our beach trip. 5 weeks from today we will be in Panama City Beach, yay. So looking forward to our trip. And we will be bringing our 4 legged friend with us on this trip. This will be a first for taking him farther than a couple of hours away on a trip. Hope there are a good deal of dog friendly things to do as he gets a nightly walk here. I understand you can take them to the residential area of Shell Island and near the area of Tyndall that is not part of the state park. So if anyone can tell us about any other dog friendly things we can do besides Frank Brown Park and St. Andrews State Park I'd appreciate it. Don't see how one would get to the residential area of Shell Island other than by boat but I don't know. Would that not be private? Thanks so much.

Have a great tiime Beachnut, I know you guys deserve it. The last time we brought our dog down the "dog beach" near Pier Park was still going but I'm not sure if that's still an option. We we're going to try to come down but our second child is on the way and the docs don't want my wife to travel very much right now. We may try for a short visit after the holidays and a longer stay in October of next year. Travel safely and have fun!

Here's some info from the Panama City beach Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Beachnut - If you feel like taking a drive, Cape San Blas and St. George Island are both dog-friendly - the entire locations, not just certain beaches.

If you go to SGI, check out Blue Parrot Restaurant, also pet-friendly.

Have fun!

Thanks you two. Sounds like there will be plenty of places we can take our pooch. And we did indeed make the drive last year to Cape San Blas and St. George Island. Loved both places. I went up inside the lighthouse at St. George Island. I assume the beach allows dogs. I know Mexico Beach does not.

Thanks and congrats Ridge. Will be heading out Friday to go a little under halfway. Cannot wait to get there. Sure glad Irene isn't coming toward the panhandle. Look forward to rolling into town sometime Saturday.

Thanks Daniel for the update. We've been down before when the water was murky for about two to three days so it's ok. We have a lot of other things non water related we like to do also.

The forecast for your trip looks rain and storm free right now but it's gonna be hot hot hot. Enjoy the gulf and pack that sunscreen!

Hey Ridge, we have sunscreen. Just hope it's cool enough to be able to enjoy deck sitting early in the am and at night.
