Where do you get the Snapper?

Me and some buddies are headed to the beautiful Gulf Coast for some "R and R" and "T and A" and want to know where to catch the big ones...............Snapper that is!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you're going on a charter boat or one of the bigger "head" boats, they'll take you right to the fish, those guys are good. If you going on a private boat, I'd suggest the various area wrecks and artificial reefs, you should be able to find GPS cooridinates somewhere on the internet. You also need to check the regulations for whatever it is you're trying to catch. I think the red snapper season is closed until mid april. Check out http://marinefisheries.org.

The fishing is good!
I had lunch on the beach today and word is that a 90-lb Cobia was caught today from Panama City's own county fishing pier.. That's supposed to be the largest one ever caught off of the pier. Holy Mackerel!.. uh.. Cobia~
