i just recently moved down to PCB from a city north of milwaukee, fond du lac.
here is the story: --- i had met some friends online (game buddys), that were at the time working at spinakers, a couple years later one of them was getting married and my girlfriend and i got an Invite to the wedding. so we came down for a week in may (1 to 2 years ago?), and decided we liked it here, so we moved down here this past october. --- all in all a good choice... but im still lost. i don't know what to do with myself, or my spare time - which i seem to have quite a bit of lately since im currently looking for a decent job. i don't know the city, and i have no one to hang with in PCB. im 24, a shy guy till you get to know me, not a lot of money, no friends yet, so getting out and doing something usualy consists of riding my scooter on the east end of the beach near st andrews park, some fishing, bike rides, walks on the beach, whatever. (im not much of a drinker) i live right by Scampys, so im sort of away from the spring break action, ive walked down to schooners for food a couple times but not lately. im just looking for some stuff to do, maybe some people to hang with. hell if i know, i dont usualy post stuff like this, but i do need to get out more. lol |

Growing up in PCB, I've learned that the quickest way to make a buck and friends at the same time is to get a job in the hospitality industry. Waiting tables or bartending opens all kinds of doors. The servers/bartenders in PCB are usually a pretty tight group and like to be social. You'll meet a ton of different people. Give it a shot if you haven't already... you might like it!
Good Luck! |

i should have a job (if i want it) as a house man at nights at a hampton inn right down the street. starting next week or so.
but minimum wage... and the houseman job itself kind of turns me off. i can make more $$ at home working on the computer, which i also dislike, because then i never get out of the house. if im not working, im doing work on a forum i admin, or im in chat with its members. (such a waste of time.) im not one to be picky, but i guess this time of year, i CAN be sort of picky... so i might as well go for something that doesn't suck, that also pays decent. ;) unfortunatly, im not much of a people person anymore, which is why i need to get out more, get back into being social, but bartender or waiting tables is out of the question, atleast for now. im more of a maintenence, janitorial, fork lift driver, factory & hands on work type person. i guess its pretty much the norm for the city i lived in for so many years. im also sort of planning on going to the bonnaroo music festival, in manchester, TN. with a group of members from the previously mentioned forum, so i need to plan the new job around that.
