Unhappy Is Miracle strip park really closing.

Dear Buddy Wilkes and PCB officials,

Please do not close our park. It is the only reason we come to the beach. We have been coming there 2 or 3 times a year, for 35 years & stay at "Edgewater Beach Resort". My children are ages 6 & 10, & we are all speechless & devastated that a "price" has been put on our past & future "memories." Our 6 year old had eagerly anticipated the day that he would be old enough to ride the "Starliner", w/his 10yr old brother. Is there anything that can be done to stop the closing of the park? I'm sure that EVERYONE who is a customer of "Miracle Strip Park", would gladly make a donation to keep the park from closing. It is just hard to fathom that it is going to be gone. I truely believe that God has allowed you to touch so many lives, through the memories that you allow families to build coming to the park every year. The hardest thing about it, for us, is not being able to see our children's "children", enjoy our favorite place. Our kids are still small, & we are just heartbroken. I read your press release, & we feel that no condominium/shopping/entertainment complex, will ever be as beneficial for the beach & families, as your park has been. We love the positive changes that are taking place with the run-down motels on the beach being torn down, but "Miracle Strip amusement park"!? There has to be another option,...we plead & encourage you to find another way to keep the park open. The closing of the park, can only devastate the tourism industry on Panama city beach. We live in Cumming,Ga., & most of our community travels to PCB for vacation. Everyone that we've talked to is disturbed about the news. Our family is coming down next wk for our vacation, & are dreading the sadness of having to visit the park for the last time. If we were to start a "save the miracle strip park fund", where your company received 100% of the proceeds, would this make any difference? We surely can not be the only ones who feel so passionate about the park. I understand that times are slow for a lot of businesses right now, but I firmly believe that in the next few years, when all of the high rise condos are finished, that your business will thrive from the "higher end" clientel that will be vacationing at the beach. Is it not more feasible to try to expand the park with new rides & attractions, to keep pace with the growing area, rather than close it? Please consider all other options before committing to anything, or is this a "done deal"? If there is anything that we can do to help, we will be more than glad to. I would love to hear from you & your position on the park closing. We hope that you can take the time to email us, at your earliest convenience of course, as we are struggling to comprehend how these events have unfolded. Thank so much, in advance, for any information that you can share with us.
