Hey, I was wondering if the Sea Star Inn and Pier 99 had been demolished yet to make way for yet another condo high-rise. I stayed at the Sea Star so many times and was wondering if it was gone yet. New condos are nice but I know I'm going to miss quite a few of the old places.

Yep, I rode down for Frances and there is a giant hole where the Sea Star used to be. Pier 99 had and 20 rooms left and the backhoes were hard at work.

I had been down in the summer, right after the Sea Star was basically abandoned... It was weird... It was like the owners just walked away.. we plundered around the office and rooms, got a couple of official Sea Star phones and some coffee pots from like the 1950's...

My buddy got some of the last postcards and has one or two left on Ebay... I spent like one night till 4 in the morning just roaming around exploring both properties...


I hate to see all of the small hotels go... I own a condo unit, but the atmosphere of the whole area is changing.... too bad
