SandPiper Beacon

We are planning a trip to PCB the week of 10/17-10/22/04 and are planning to stay at the SandPiper Beacon. Does anyone know how it fared? Also do you think that will be a good week to be in PCB as far as power being on, stores open, places to eat, etc.

Thanks

MaryBeth

Mary, I have had emails from Schooners, Boatyard, Ruthie T's, Angelo's Steak Pit and Boarshead that they are all open. Breakers just got power yesterday and will reopen Thursday. Capt. Anderson's will reopen probably by the first of the week but will not have any carpeting. Gulf World had some damage but they are open. It sounds like PCB is rapidly getting back to normal and could use our money. I'm going 10/2-10/9

Just called Sandpiper... they are open. They did receive minimal damage to the Tiki Bar, however, they expect the Tiki Bar to open back up tonight.

Other than that, everything is "A-OK"!

Enjoy your vacation!

Mary, you're coming in October? The Sandpiper is open, and the Tiki bar should be by now. Last time I saw it (after the hurricane), it was filled with sand, but it was cleanable. Not a lot of people go to the club behind it during the Fall and Winter season. The hotel is great though, I stayed there with a couple friends for Prom night, but I didn't pay for it.

When will the Breakers be closing for the last time. I would really like to make it there for one last time.

Talking sandpiper

we will be going 10/11-10/14 to the sandpiper for the first time .We usually stay at the flamingo(great place). But wanted things for the kids to do if the beaches are bad.

Cool

Good thinking... but the beaches are GREAT! Any debris from the storm has already been cleaned up and they are as beautiful as ever!
Enjoy your vacation!

I just called and St. Andrew's State Park is open. No damage from the storm other than minimal beach erosion. (they should update their website, huh?!)
