Anybody know anything about them? Our regular place to go is Sea Oats On Okaloosa. Ivan ruined that, so we had to change and know nothing about PCB or Watercrest. We are leaving Friday Night.

Watercrest is very nice I haven't stayed there but I know several people that have and they have enjoyed it very much. I stayed at Regency Towers which is down from it and its nice also.

We just got back last Saturday from there and the weather was wonderful. Enjoy your trip

Well, I am back from PCB...

The beach was awesome! Weather was a little iffy some of the time, but cleared some for part of the vacation.

The Watercrest wasn't what we were expecting...

sadly, it looks to have once been a very nice place, but the current management is awful and the place seems to be going downhill fast!

First of all they called the day we were leaving to tell us that the 6th floor condo we rented wasn't available and that they would have to give us a room on the 12th floor...grrr, but ok.

Then we get there and check in get up to the condo and it hadn't been cleaned...the beds hadn't even been made much less changed....and it stank!

So, here we go back down to the office and they gave us a room on the 16th!!! floor.....

It wasn't alot better, but they said if we would just stay there the first night they would have a condo on the 3rd floor ready for us by noon the next day...it had been completely gutted and remodled, everything was new....liars! First of all it ended up being about 3 pm when they finally told us we could go look at it even though housekeeping was still there....It was worse, it had awful furnishings and the carpet was nasty! And on top of it the girl from housekeeping was still there and told us the owners have a dog...ugh!

So we opted to stay on the 16th floor and just made the best of it....

There were other things too....

*the "hot" tub...wasn't working
*the "heated" pool was so cold we couldn't swim in it
*the kiddy pool was green with rain water
*the dryer ruined some of our towels
*the whole time we were there, one elevator was all that worked
*we were 8 people and had 3 towels and 3 washclothes, we called 4 days in a row before they brought extras
*some of the light bulbs were either shot or gone, and they never did bring bulbs we asked for
*we bought cleaning supplies and cleaned the whole condo and then again when we were leaving

It is sickening because it looks like it was once a grand place....

so sorry to hear about your stay at watercrest!! How awful!!! Nothing like a bad place to ruin your vacation! We always stay at Long Beach resort and we always reant through a owner...much nicer. Go to www.vrbo.com and click to your destination and enjoy looking!!!

Yes rental buy owners can be much better and cheaper.

But word of mouth is the best bet. If a place is a dump don't be afraid to label it so. There many condos out there that the owner has never seen, bought it and put it in rental program and expects a check and could care less about their place. But they also take everyone. Other condos are so expensive to keep out those that would make a mess of it. Hopefully there is a happy medium for you.
