Hi,
We always visit in late summer/early fall. We've been pretty lucky with the hurricanes so far but don't want to push our luck.
Any advice on visiting in the spring? I'd like to avoid all the "Spring Break" action as I'll be traveling with my two year old son. How's the weather? Are there any bugs I should be worried about? (Love Bugs,nasty black flies,ect...) Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Most of the Spring Breakers are here from late February until late March. I suggest traveling here in April. In April most of the Spring Breakers are gone and the summer visitors haven't arrived yet. If you do decide to travel here in March avoid Front Beach Rd. whenever possible. The Spring Breakers love to cruise in their cars at that spot.

The best time to be here and avoid all the crazy crowds is from the last 2 weeks of April until the middle of June. Everything is open at these times and there are not a bunch of drunken kids ruining everything.

Our family has always visited PC Beach sometime in the first 2 weeks of May.. Great weather, discount rates at most of the motels and no huge crowds. We did run into two different events a couple of years back. The triathalon one weekend (which blocks off traffic on Thomas drive part of one day) and fills all of the restaurants for the weekend. The other was the motorcycle rally. To tell the truth we were a bit nervous about this one. But we were very much impressed with the lack of impact this event had on the town. The event was very respectful and not at all "out of control" Our young daughter LOVED the Motorcycle parade on Beach front road.

I have a condo reserved on April 30th for the week at the Summit on the 12th floor. I here there is a motorcycle event going on at this time. Does anybody have any info. I hear that Spinikers will be the main place for this motorcycle event. I'm single and 47. Any single women coming to the beach at this time?

We'd thought about mid-May or June. Wish I'd know about the rally . My son loves motorcycles! Plus it would have been something of interest for my husband as well.
I hate that there aren't dates set for events/festivles 'till later in the year.

Yes I'm married. Just having a little fun. No harm intended. Feel free to delete my comments if you want. I was just a little bored last night and couldn't sleep and stumbled upon your message board. I run a message board and found that over half of my posters used fake emails because they were making coments about politicians and were afraid of the repercussions.
My board got really nasty and I was banning people left and right. Now my board is almost dead but I can sleep better most nights. By coming to your message board I have learned something that I will use next time on my board before I ban someone. I found IP banning to be a great tool. I did a blanket warning but never picked one individual and warned them before I banned them. Next time I will.

You can delete me and the next time I come here I will use a good email address. Thanks for the warning.

Thanks for the info about the Thunder Beach 7th Annual Motorcycle Rally.

I was told this will be an older crowd going up to the 70's. I think it's great some of the old timers are still riding! Great way to stay young at hart.

I think you can just go in and change your email address in your user control panel (click the "User CP" link at the top of this page, then look in the left column for "Edit Email & Passowrd")

We have visited before in the summer but are thinking about heading down for some golf & beach time towards the end of February. Is it usually warm enough by then? Thanks!

Difficult to tell... it could be 70 degrees or 40 degrees... that time of year is very unpredictable.

If you're staying for a week or so, chances are there will be a couple good golf or beach days in there.
