Icon9 Guy to Girl Ratio Wayyyy too high in clubs

Hey Folks,

I was in PCB for the first week of April 2004 to do some boating and went to LaVela and the others and stayed until about 3 A.M. and I can say that for a girl or a gay guy it would be a fantastic time as there were about 20 guys on every one girl. I don't mean to knock anyone because looks are just a superficial thing but there were some really homely women with disaster-zone bodies that were going home with Keanu Reeves Hawaiian surfer-types. The laws of clubbing apply here just like any other club in the USA - he who is best dressed and is willing to dance his butt off gets the girl. Haha. Even though I am fit and dressed well I am too old to keep up with 20 somethings as far as dancing so it was a dull night for me! I joined the group of people standing at the side with their arm leveled at a 45 degree angle holding a beer and trying to look cool. I managed to get in with a $10 cover charge but my friend who arrived later.... about 20 minutes was charged 20!

As an older person (32) it kinda surprises me at how indiscriminate the women are, the 9 or 10 that were there - they will just pick the first guy and grind their rear against his "front" and this goes on all night... with the same guy -- this is the new "dancing". It is pretty degrading to watch! The girls don't hardly give any other guys a chance. They must have sore backs from bending over so much. A guy is just better off from the start bringing his GF as it would be great fun for a couple.

Luckily, I found a few other 30-somethings in LaVela to talk to so I didn't feel so out of place and I'm writing this so other older folks won't make the same mistake.

I did see a few drunk 50 something fellows with grey sideburns and a couple fellas wearing mutton-chops.... of course maybe they were there monitoring their daughters.

Most everyone is friendly and upbeat.

During the first week of April at Lavela it was pretty much just rap, stuff they play on MTV and they repeat it wayyyy too much. There was another room open and it was mostly white males with mullet-style haircuts and rat-tail cuts listening to metal-type music. This room had a male to female ratio of about 24 to 1.

People were dressed every which way.... from Walmart and K-Mart Blue Light to some impressive silk threads here and there.....

The drinking was good, however, and I spotted a celeb one night..... Dale Jr.

As for Panama City Beach people of color should be aware that you will see a lot of Confederate flags in stores and on pickup trucks.... so be prepared.

You will see many carloads of teenagers in honda civics with 5 inch exhaust pipes and spinning wheels that cost more than the car itself.

Spring Break hasnt hardly started... other than the canadians who have left now-- Many schools dont until break start of march.. as for the women vs male ratios.. that will vary depending on what club you go to, what time, and a little bit of luck.

Thumbs up

That was a bloody good post. The thing with the girl to boy ratio is all about times and places. If someone was to say to me they went to a certain club on a certain night which was rammed full of birds its not likely to be the same the next week. Its all the luck of the draw.

As for this grinding sh*t, I know what you mean. Its just blatant pr*ck teasing. Last time I was in California I was dancing with the most phenomenal looking birds I've ever seen - too good in fact that you don't need to be a rocket scientist to work out that they will still be going home on their own, but with the satisfaction that some bloke has just paid attention to them thinking they're hot. Very immature really.

Hey Kasket, may I presume that Heineken is served in the US?

You assume correctly.. I sell about 3-8 per night on avg.. More people drink Bud Light/Mill Light than anything else though.

Have they made it 5% in America yet.

It always used to be 3% over here and only old men used to drink it. However last year they made it 5% and it tastes great.

Speaking of dutch lager, do they do Amstel in the US?
