Greetings from a Golden Oldie
I am a new member but I am an old timer to PCB.My first trip was 40 years ago and I was stationed threre while in the air force.I still go to the beach every summer and the old beach is fading away.Even as it changes I'll still go to my favorite place to rest!Man I miss the old beach.

wow! That kind of perspective could come in handy around here. I guess you've seen lots of changes over the years.
Welcome! |

thanks for the reply
Thanks for a reply.Around 74 or 75 it was 2 to 3 hours to cruise from Hathaway Bridge to the"Y" and back down thru Thomas Drive. There was a ton of "mom an pop" stores, shops, food stops, bars.Last summer I made the trip in less than an hour.Well maybe next time I'll tell about the days I drove an ambulance on the beach.

Wow, you've got me beat by 15 years! My first trip was in 1980, and I've still got the Captain Anderson's glass to prove it. There have been so many changes in the area, it's unreal. Hopefully, not all the old places will be torn down by the condo craze. As long as Spinnaker stays, I'll be happy though

Greetings from a golden oldie.Been a while since I posted just a few thoughts to all the youth going for spring break " I've been there got the "t"shirt".In 30+ years you can look back at this time and think of every thing you did.So have a blast.
now as for myself and my family we will be there this summer as we have for the past 11 years. We are staying at another motel/hotel.For the past 10 years we were at "the chateau" but after last summer it is time to move on.The room was musty, the walk ways had trash pushed to the side, the parking was uncontrolled(vehicles taking 2 spots).now with "harpoon harrys and theBreakers"gone this part of the beach needs another tombstone placed there(the old tombstone territory was located in this same area). Yes I'm 50+ years old and the beach is a love of mine, today it is nothing but a good rest from my work. But at 20 I had my share of fun.I wish to see the OLD beach again but in the name of progress the beach has been developed (the real word is raped). But you can not fight progress and I will continue to go to the "WORLDS MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES" Good luck all. |

Harpoon Harrys is open and going strong for Spring Break.
I'm not sure but I think Breakers is still open as well.
