Pier Park Shopping Complex

Have been hearing about a retail development at Pier Park for some time now but have not really heard any details. Does anyone now what's going on with the Pier Park entertainment and shopping complex? What kind of shops, restaurants, and attractions will be added. I heard a developer bought the property back in Dec. but that's about it.

Will Jimmy Buffett be opening a Margaritaville or Cheeseburger in Paradise there? I thought at one time he was planning on opening a place in PCB, maybe he's just waiting for this development.

I no longer live in PCB, now in Myrtle Beach Sc: but this year a Margaritaville AND a Cheeseburger in Paradise opened --- Jimmy Buffet was a no-show for both. it's unlikely but possible that he'd go to the opening of one.

Pier Park has a really nice sign and enterance, but other than that it is dead. I know people that own stock in the company building it and they have heard no news about it. The lot is now growing up with small trees and weeds.

As far as what is coming, it will be like Silver Sands in Sandestin. They are trying to keep the crowds from drive there and spending money.

I'm a Parrothead and the last a heard about Jimmy opening a place in PCB is that it is not going to happen.

quick update: Jimmy Buffet DID come to the Margaritaville here in MB last week. It was unannounced, he stayed there about 1 1/2 hours. I guess you just never know when he'll show, but I bet it was a shock for whoever was hanging out there!

I read about it in BuffettNews.com and that's great for MB, but we need to get the ball rolling for a Margaritaville in PCB!! PCB could use some new blood, especially since alot of the restaurants/bars/hangouts are selling out to condos. I just hope places like Schooners, Pineapple Willie's, and Spinnakers are in it for the long haul. I've already put a bug in the ear of the new developer for Pier Park and will be doing the same with JB, PCB's Mayor, and the PCB Chamber of Commerce.
