As far as restaurants, Schooners, Pineapple Willy's, Hooks, Capt Anderson (expensive but we take our kids), Spinnaker Grill. We take our kids everywhere. All restaurants are family friendly. Schooners and Hooks have live music at night and we take our kids there, Age range 3-10. No problem at all.
Most places in PCB want families to come. My kids love Schooners and we do to. Check out the Water Park, Shipwreck Island. Be there when they open. Lots of fun. Trip to Shell Island, take one of the bigger boats from Capt Andersons for the first time out there. Hope you have fun...We will be there in July. I posted this on another thread here, but I think you'll want to try this place:
Here's a new restaurant the kids (and most all adults) will love: Frank'n'stein's on Thomas Drive. The place, next to Taxi's Pizza and just down from the original Newby's, serves, among other things, "monster" corndogs and hotdogs (also known as "franks") and all sorts of sodas and beer (in "steins", get it?). The monster corndogs are great. They're about a foot long, served open face with no stick, and are loaded with chili, mustard, craut and onions. They're just fantastic, and filling, too! The place, which I believe used to be an Omelete Shoppe or something similar, is decorated with all sorts of Frankenstein movie posters and trivia. The place also serves things such as chicken fingers, cheese sandwiches, chicken sandwiches and much more. For dessert you can get a Snickers or Milky Way fried on a stick like a corndog. It may sound odd, but it's good! I loved the place because it's so unique, the type of place PCB used to be packed with. You definitely should give Frank'n'stein's a try when you're down there! They've also lots of sovenier T-shirts and steins for sale. My buddy and I stayed a week at PCB and I wish we had tried Frank'n'steins before the sixth day! |

I don't know if you've already taken your trip or not, but here is a nightlife suggestion. There is a group called "Clutch" that performs at "The Breakers". They put on a 3 hour show 5 or 6 nights a week, and it is well worth the money. You can go for dinner and the show or just go for the show. And, all ages are allowed and will enjoy. They start with the 50's rock and roll and work their way up to the present, doing everything in costume, and while their voices may not exactly mimic the people they are doing, they are excellent musicians and entertainers. We have seen them every year for the last 12 years, ever since our children were small. Our children are all grown now, and still insist that we see them at least once when we are there on vacation, sometimes we see them multiple times. It's that entertaining. We are looking forward to seeing them again in August.

Thanks so much for the info on "The Breakers." We have been going to PCB for years and I did not know about this group. Sounds great! We will check them out in September. We are always looking for something new to do.

My family and I have vacationed in PCB for 3 years, (extended family have been coming down for over 20!) My sons were 5 and 10 when we first went and we did all the "tourist" stuff and they still think those were the most memorable vacation years! The first year we took a helocopter tour of the beach (cool) but a little scary. We did snorkel tours and dolphin waverunner tours (I went to all of the big hotels in town and asked for area information, they were more than happy to help and we would leave with handfuls of booklets! We parasailed and all of the men in the family chartered a boat and went deep-sea fishing. It takes some planning but we did something different everyday. Hope this helps , sorry i can't remember the names of the companies that we did these activities with! ITs' been awhile!

Pineapple Willy's will be one of the only beachfront restaurants left...the owners have decided not to sell out and stay around for a while...good news. Football season is just around the corner...hdtv..plasma..tablespeakers...new hot wings and burgers...the place where the games really matters.

We hit Pineapple Willy's at least once every time we go to Panama City. We love eating on the beach. If I just want to sit in a restaurant, I can do that here in St. Louis, we have some pretty decent ones. Not only is it the atomsphere, their portions don't let you leave hungry. We usually leave with enough for a midnight snack, too! Please tell the owners to stay firmly planted in one of my favorit spots.

Glad to hear that Pineapple Willy's isn't going anywhere. We were down in June and enjoyed eating out on the deck and drinking those wonderful Pineapple Willy drinks. Thanks for the recipe....but I bet mine won't taste near as good....need that beach atmosphere to go with it. Hope to make it down one more time before fall. :)
