construction in PCB

We are staying at the Edgewater around Labor Day and have heard there is a lot of construction in the area. How bad is it and how is it around Edgewater?
Thanks,
Laura

Edgewater Beach

Not sure about he construction around Edgewater. I know we were there over spring and did not notice anything. We are going down in a couple weeks and we are not concerned. I guarantee the beauty of the resort will be more overwhelming then any construction

I just got back from a week in PCB on Sunday and construction is all along Front Beach Road, but it is not that big a pain although it will slow up traffic at times (of course, PCB is not known for being speedy at the best of times).
The old strip of Front Beach Road that once included the Majestic, White Motel and the Barney Gray is unrecognizable except for Bikini Beach and the soon-to-be-demolished Salty's. There are at least five condo complexes standing at least 21 stories high under construction there, and I believe only one of them is open so far. Across the street are parking decks standing 3-4 stories high. Driving past feels like driving through downtown Atlanta. It's going to take some getting used to.
I stayed at the Sunbird on Thomas Drive and it was quite a sight seeing these huge construction sites where Pier 99 and the Sea Star Inn stood only last year. The four Long Beach towers look small compared to what's on either side of them. But if you're staying at Edgewater, you shouldn't have a problem with the resort itself. It's pretty much as it's always been. The only differences you'll see is driving east and west of there.

You will never know the construction is going on if you're staying at Edgewater.
