Just returned from my vacation..

We just returned from our Vacation in Panam City Beach. The weather was wonderful, the water was beautiful, we had a great time. We stayed at Sterling Beach, and if you're looking for a place to stay, that place is awesome. We went to Shipwreck Island which was great too, the only thing I don't understand is why they don't stay open at night. We also rode the SeaScreamer which was fun, I wanted to do it again on the sunset cruise. We ate at Pompano's, which was good but i was a little disappointed to find out that they charge for drink refills. We also ate at Captain Andersons, which is always very good, we are never disappointed there, Montego Bay which was good, the service was a little off the night we were there, and Angelos, which was the most disappointing meal to me. It wasn't nearly up to par with the times we have eaten there in the past. It amazes me all the new condos that are popping up, makes me wonder how crowded it will be when they start filling all those condos up, will it lose it's charm? This year though it was perfect, the only bad part was having to leave to come home!

We just got back today, too! We had a blast, as usual. The beaches were so pretty, and they're quickly returning back to normal. The Beachcomber was great, again, and so was Calypso Beach Cafe. I love Panama City Beach, but I can't help but wonder what it will be like in a couple years, with all the condos. It's really ruining the Panama City I fell in love with, and wanted to be able to share with my kids someday. By then, it will be nothing but condos, and all the original hangouts will be gone! I'm really sad about Harpoon Harrys closing - it's always been one of my favorites - how can something like that be torn down for condos? It makes me sick! There has to be some way to stop it before the condos go too far!

If Harpoon Harry's closed, does that mean Breakers did too?

Yep, I believe this is the final season for Harpoon Harry's and Breakers. Breaker has been there as long as I can remember and I first visited Panama City Beach in 1979. I haven't heard anything about Hooters (which is directly next door to Harpoon Harry's and Breakers). I assume it's staying.

So is it still open this season? We see Clutch every time we are there. Our kids, even though they are grown now, will be so disappointed if we don't get to see their show this time. It's always one of our favorite nights out.

Harpoon Harry's was the first place I ever had a drink in PCB. I was staying at the Chateau. This was in summer, not Spring Break. Walked over there, kicked back for the view, staff was super cool and friendly, drinks were excellent. Perfect "very first memory" of PCB.

bamagal, we ate at Pompanos also.Awsome meal. The lighting for me was a little dark. we drink ice tea so we could get refills.5 people ate for $110. Mahi mahi was excellant.Stuffed grouper too!!!Scampis was good food too but not terrific. the place was to small. then when we were trying to leave there was a huge group in front of the door waiting to be seated. The logistics just wasnt good.We hit the Cpt. jacks buffet. best buffet on the beach I think.then on tuesday we went to Ebro..that was a freakin blast!!!!we stayed at the Summitt room was very good.we love PCB!!!!

We just returned from our vacation as well. Wonderful as always! We stay at the Osprey Motel just down from Shuckums. We really like it there. Weather was hot but bearable. Hurricane Dennis did a number on shifting the sand around as we could walk out quite far before the water got deep. Saw stringrays, crabs, dolphins. The water was beautiful for most of the week and, yes, the seaweed did start to come in, but we didn't mind. Kept on swimming! Eight days of glorious Florida!!!!

We also stay at the Osprey, for the last six years. We reserved a room there last April and had a great time. We tried to reserve another room there the following month and they said they had 10 rooms available but were holding those rooms for walk-ins. So we reserved a room at Aqua Vista. We won't be returning to the Osprey. The Aqua Vista was so much nicer and not that much more expensive. Try Bishops they have a pretty good buffet also.
