Icon6 Hows the water?

We will be coming for Labor Day and staying at the Edgewater and just read a post on trip advisor and they just returned and said the water was horrible.

We were at Seacrest July 23-30th and the water was great all week. We went to Shell Island one day and water was perfect there also. One day there was a very small amount of seaweed, but really no bother at all. I guess we timed it perfect - no hurricanes - no sharks - no seaweed....it was at great week!

millyjo will become famous soon enough
Today at Edgewater the slimy green stuff was present and was pretty bad, but many people went in the water anyway. Labor Day is more than 3 weeks away so the water may be clear again by then. I would bet on it.

The water is clear with little or no seaweed at Edgewater today. I heard there was a little on down the beach, but here it is really nice.
If you haven't been here since the storm, you'll notice that there is less beach than before due to erosion. You can walk really far out into the water now and still be only knee deep.
It's not too crowded and the weather is beautiful.

Sounds good, millyjo. We're headed down this Friday after work for the weekend. We'll be staying at the Mariner West. Hopefully, the water will stay clear and weather will stay beautiful.
