Turkey Day in PCB

I know it's seems a bit early, but we are thinking about coming back to PCB at Thanksgiving. Never been there in November, is everything closed? If any locals are out there reading this, you're help would be greatly appreciated!

It's actually a great time to visit if you want to relax. The beach is really nice in the fall.

Some of the restaurants on the beach will be closed by then... and most of the attractions... but there will still be enough open for you to enjoy your trip. You can always venture in town, too. Everything stays open year-round in town. Boatyard is open year-round. Last year Boatyard had a huge T-Day Feast. Schooners will still be open then.

Nightlife may be questionable, but I know a lot of locals come in town for the T-Day weekend and usually go out to places like Spinnaker, Schooners, and Ruthie T's.

My FAVORITE time of the year!

It's just downright BEAUTIFUL here in November... my favorite time. Still plenty of great places to eat and shop and party, but you don't have to fight the crowds, and it's still perfect for boating and even swimming! Nights are cool. Days are warm. Sky is crisply clear, and the water is so aquamarine, you'll think you are in the Caribbean.

You'll love it.

Thanksgiving at Boatyard

If you want to get the Boatyard Thanksgiving menu, it comes out in their email newsletter; you can sign up for it at: www.boatyardclub.com and you can sign up for the Schooners entertainment update at www.schooners.com. We (tripsmarter.com) send out a monthly SmartTips newsletter, too, and you can find a subscription button on the very bottom right of our Panama City Beach homepage... it should help you plan: http://www.tripsmarter.com/panamacity/index.htm

By the way, the Thanksgiving feast at Boatyard last year was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!!

Have fun!

I totally agree with PCB and the Emerald Coast in November. I was down in November of '01 (other trips have been in times like May and August) and enjoyed it so much. The traffic is much more mellow. It gets dark early (like it does anywhere), but no big deal. Just take in the gulf and do your sight seeing in mid-morning and afternoon.

The weeknights were pretty slow as far as "action." Since I wanted to party a bit, I asked the locals what is happening where. There are usually some bar and grill place and beach spots that are open all the time that have people hanging out and having fun.

But the trade-off was the lack of crowds and complete laid-back atmosphere. Just made for a really nice time.
