Can anyone give me an update on the damaged to the Dan Russell Pier? I heard it was damaged. Just wanted to know how bad and if fishing is still done on the pier. Coming down in a couple weeks and last trip me and my 7 year old son spent almost every morning there. I heard from the bathroom area out was gone. Any updates from anyone?

Still damaged. You can go out about halfway, and the rest is closed. Fishin's probably not too good since you can't get out very far. Last time we drove by (last week sometime) they had not started any repairs.

What is the damage, what happened and how? I can only assume it was one of the hurricanes that skirted the area.

Damage still from Hurricane Ivan last year, and a little more from Dennis this year.
