Beach Tower Resort
I do not know anything about the resort as we rent a individual's townhouse at Inlet Beach. However, we do all our running around in PC Beach. It will be plenty warm to swim and not as crowded. Here is however, the link to the Beach Tower Resort. You can look at it's amenities and such.

A friend of mine stayed at Beach Tower Resort a couple of years ago and liked it. She enjoyed her stay and said she would stay there again. We are going down Labor Day for a long weekend, staying at the Mariner West. This will be our 3rd trip this season. Wish I was there right now

Believe it or not. We stopped only one time last year as to bathroom break. That was for lunch at the McDonalds drive thru in Clanton, Alabama and that is where we took our bathroom break. Stopped and filled up with gas at Cowboys in Birmingham and then again on 331 at a Tom Thumb. Other than that we did not stop again until we reached the beach. Left around 7:15 and got to the beach around 3:15. Made great time! You don't mind the drive when you know what you have waiting on you when you get there. Makes it worth it. Hate the following Saturday though, the drive back home! That stinks!

It is very nice to be so close. When I was younger, we used to go down there just for the day. A carload of us would leave home at 6 in the morning and be there by 9 (which was 8 down there) and not leave until late that night.

you see we are from southern illinois, we do most of the driving over night. I hate leaving at 6 in the morning and getting there at 6 at night you lost a whole day of vacation. But if we leave at Midnight we get there at noon we still have the rest of the day, I think we will be stopping alot, my 2 year old is potty training

We are about 15 hours. We only do bathroom breaks when we stop for gas. We also get our food at that time and eat on the road. We go very early in the am and prefer driving during the day as it helps to keep us alert. Night driving that long could be dangerous I think.

That is a long drive, 15 hours. We have had two or three opportunities to have extra days in the townhouse we rent but have never been able to do it because of either not being able to take off from work earlier than planned, which is my husbands case, as he has to get approval, or because of having to be back home on a Saturday to pick our dog up from the vet. We always schedule our vacation to include a holiday, and this year we will be coming home on a Saturday prior to Labor Day. And we will have to pick our dog up that day or he will have to be there until Tuesday. And he doesn't like being boarded!
