Icon3 YOU plan my vacation!

Today starts my countdown, seven days to my vacation with my husband in PC, and I had an IDEA!! (True, I was there a month ago, however it was work, work work. Yeah, I know, )
I have two friends that will be staying with us during different parts of the week, and all we are going to do is play, lounge around, and drink!! The first weekend is planned out, beach, jetski, Shell Island... but come Monday, we're completely open to ideas. SO -- If you guys come up with suggestions for me and my girls to do/see, I'll provide detailed reviews of any of these activities back to the board! Is there something you've always meant to do but haven't gotten to? Or something in the Emerald Coast area you evangelize? Let me know!!! It can be as crazy as you like, just keep it clean...

So far I have a spa referral, and an invite I can't refuse from Kimber to visit Courtyard Wine & Cheese in Rosemary Beach.
What else you got??

How bout a visit to historic St. Andrews. I have heard they have all kinds of quaint little shops. They picture a restaurant in here called Uncle Ernies. Don't know anything about the food though. I was planning on us driving over there this time when we came but since we are not coming, well, that won't be happening. Here is a link.

Hope you take plenty of pics of PC Beach and wherever else you go down there and put them on here! Would love to see them. If you do decide to go to St. Andrews, I would love for you to take some pics. Hope you guys have a great trip and know I am going to be oh so jealous! Here is a link that shows what shops and restaurants are in St. Andrews. Would like to know what is good.

I go to the beach uhm... well... allot, one of my favorite spots are St. Andrews State Park, the beach scene there is great and accommodates to practically everyone. There's jedi's for kids to venture on and for fishing, a docile lagoon on the south side and on the north side is a normal beach equipped with waves great for skim-boarders, or just floating around on an air mattress. From the gift shop you can rent snorkels, masks, fins, and almost anything else you may have forgot to bring. I highly recommend St. Andrews skin diving (mask, snorkel, and fins) on a clear day. For those "other" extra curricular activities I love Spinnaker and Schooners for the drinks, you can come straight out of the sand and shower off go to the bar and have a drink any hour of the day. After 6:00pm you’re requested to have some kind of shirt on at Schooners though.

Does Yoda live out at St. Andrew's?

Yes actually, he and the rest of the council meet there regularly because of the abnormally high concentration of midichlorians found in the jetties.

I'm guessing they would probably always require us ladies to wear a shirt... ;) Nice midichlorians reference....

Beachnut,

Wonderful!!! So far we've spent one day playing in the ocean, did a jetski tour to Shell Island, a day just laying out in the sun, and spent 3 nights filming stuff at Spinnaker (my husband's doing a thing over there). Went to Destin to shop, and we've been to Fred's, Osaka and Casa de Fogo for dinner... going out to eat has been a blast, because we have my husband's tiny little intern with us, she's 4'11" and maybe 100 pounds, but the girl can eat so much that all the gauchos at Fogo came out and said how impressed they were, lol.

Going to historic downtown this afternoon, just returned back to the condo to get batteries for my camera, I wore down my cell battery taking about 100 pictures of homes (house hunting)!!! I'll take pictures for you!

Trish

I looked online at their homes on there about 9 months ago and noticed alot of homes were just maybe $10,000 to $15,000 more than our home. Sure wished we could move there and make the money we are making here. Would be there in a heartbeat. Would love to see your pics. I am ever so jealous of you guys. I wouldn't know how to act getting to come down there more than once a year. And now I have to wait another whole year to come down. Rats. Just don't think I'm going to enjoy Chickasaw State Park over the beach. Even though we will be in a cabin above a nice beautiful lake with a swimming beach and tennis, basketball, hiking, horseback riding, and even being able to take paddle boats out on the lake, it is not the same as the beach. Rules state you cannot leave your pet unattended in the cabin, but they are not allowed at the restaurant or the swimming area, which we will not get to go to probably and I love to swim, so does my husband and my pooch. They said some people take their dogs there anyway. Hoping there won't be many people that late in August.

BN,

In my own defense, my last trip down was all work and no play... actually one day of play, but the work more than made up for it, we busted our butts... so this was my chance to make up for that. Your vacation sounds extremely relaxing, but I guess the grass is always greener... I'll post pics soon....

I am sure it will be. But you know, nothing is as nice as hearing the ocean at night. Sitting on the deck having a glass of wine listening to the surf. Waking up early and taking a walk down the beach looking for shells. I am sure I will enjoy the state park more when we get there. And it is no more than a two hour drive and won't cost us more than around $290. I have already paid for one night. Has a deck with a grill on it. We can walk the dog alot of places and down by the lake. He is old and arthritic and does good to make his morning walk as is. So we will have to take him no farther than I do now. The cabin has cable tv so we won't be roughing it too much. I will take plenty of pictures and put some on here.

Have you tried putting him on Rimadyl?

No, every time I take him to the vet where he gets his shots, they mention his arthritis and I have taken him for his paw problems. They never even say one word about putting him on that. I have mentioned it to them with no reply. You would think they would but they may be thinking since he is already over 12, why bother?
