Lucky you!!! I am very envious. I have to wait until Aug 31st for a long Labor Day weekend. Enjoy the sun and sand and have a for me.

Jealous

Enjoy it! I am stuck here in 107 degree heat with no beach it sight!

Hey GaGirl, how is the crowd on Labor Day Weekend? My friend and I had made 13 straight Memorial Days until this year, so we are driving over for Labor Day instead.

Well, I'm not gagirl, but my husband and I have come a few times Labor Day week including last year. Not really bad. Restaurants are probably still crowded somewhat but not bad traffic driving down the strip unless backed up temporarily by construction crews in the street. Once you get beyond the holiday, traffic does lighten considerably. I'm jealous because we are not coming this year. Have to wait a whole year to come back.

beachnut,
Thanks for the info. We are dying to get there since we missed Memorial Day weekend this year. Sounds like the crowds will be fun but manageable.

trishben,
Thanks for the welcome. I can't believe I found a forum to discuss my favorite getaway place. I have been coming to PCB since my spring break days in the early 90s, but I have to admit I am a little disheartened at some of the changes...

I hope you have a great time in less than two days!

TexasGent, we like people that share our love for PC Beach. Yeah, it has changed alot. Looking more and more like Destin everyday. Oh well, they still have alot of things to do we love, like waverunners and scooter rides. Alvins's Island stores. Sure gonna miss that this year. Canoeing at Econfina Creek in Youngstown is great also. There are about 7 springs off from the creek you can canoe up into. Great trip. Don't know what kind of things you like to do but here is the Canoe Livery website:

TexasGent. Looks like beachnut answered your question about Labor Day. We have been down the past 8 Memorial Day weekends also. This will be our 2nd Labor Day weekend. There are still some crowds but since most of the kids are back in school, it isn't near as crowded as the summer months. Wish I was there right now.
