A couple of unrelated questions...

Ok, so what's w/ the real estate market here, did the bottom fall out? We've been looking at houses here for a couple of days, and I'm very suprised to see the cost of housing is less than back home. Does this hold true for cost of living as well, or just housing?

And on an entirely different note, what happened to Show N Tail? I drove by today and it looks burned down?? Does anyone know if it will be rebuilt or the property sold...? (Curious about the property, not the strip joint itself... )

Club Hour has a house for sale. Off Thomas Drive, near the lagoon. You should email him. 3/2 seaside style w/ a pool.

Asking prices do seem to have come down... not sure if selling prices followed, but I bet they did. I wouldn't say the bottom has fallen, though. Bay Co. is still one of the markets with the most growth potential in the nation. It's been discussed on a couple national shows and in several articles.

Show 'n' Tail caught fire. They were near the end of an agreement with the city and were about to have to relocate off the tourist corridor. But they caught fire instead. Luckily no one was hurt.

Show N Tail burned down instead huh! Just as well. Sounds a little suspicious to me. Now to get rid of the condom knowledge locations. The title alone disgusts me. I know some of the California Cycle locations on Front Beach Rd. had signs up in front of them last year showing the name of some development showing Phase I in one location and Phase II in another one of their locations.

Thanks Steve, I'll do that.....

BN, I guess the Condom Knowledge stores don't bother me... I'd much rather know that people are being safe and responsible, not having babies they can't provide for or spreading STDs. And there's shopping there for happy couples, too.

I'd be oh so embarrassed to ever step foot in a store like that. Same with Crystals that is here. I agree with your view, however, these kids should not be doing things before marriage anyway but it is way too late for this country where that is concerned. And as for the shopping for happy couples thing, my hubby is 55 and I am 46, way beyond that point of finding anything we would be interested in.

I agree, I've been in a few times... for gifts of course
It's a clean store, and it's not like your going to wander in looking for a decorated hermit crab, if you go in the store you know what it is. The staff are nice, not the condescending reaction you'd expect. It's fun to go in with a couple friends and have a few laughs at the rediculous titles, and bizarre items

Don't know whether everyone is familiar with Spencers Gifts that have been popular in malls, but I never will forget the red, white and blue crocheted item to cover a men's personal area. Laughed my head off. Other things related also but one was edible and white chocolate. But I was alot younger then.

Steve,

(Queue twilight zone music) Guess which house was already towards the top of my shortlist? It was in a bunch of pictures I took... thanks for that lead, we'll see what happens.
