Football in the Panhandle

Alright, I concede that the best place to watch a football game is in a Stadium watching the real deal...but without a pro team nearby, where can a die hard fan find a great game?!?...Also with the volume of travelers this city sees, where can the average fan keep up with their team each week?

So let's help out our visitors, transplants, vacationers, etc....WHAT ARE THE BEST SPORTS BARS in town? Who has the best screens, the coldest beer, the cutest cheerleaders/bartenders, etc.

We want to hear from you, tell us your favorite and be entered to win some cool Club Hour Tees....if you win we will expect a Chad Johnson-like victory dance...LOL...

The Yacht club is a great "local" hang out for us townies, but why stray away from Hooter? They have got a great variety things to watch, great food, service with a smile, and they are the only restaurant I know featuring ice-filled sandwich bags (tied off with a rubber band) to keep your beer cool. Dusty's plays sports, and has great oysters but they are more of a Nascar bar so the real sports get brushed to the side occasionally.

Ahhh Hooters....

I like the way you think....Hooters....o you mean there is a restaurant named that too....LOL...

In PC what does everyone think about Calypso's on the beach? How about Time Out....my personal favorite has to be Beef O'Bradys in town, Pat sure can create a helluva atmosphere for sports...

Friend of a friend of a friend rumored me to the fact a Beef's may be headed to the beach....I haven't been able to confirm it yet but how GREAT would that be!

Anywhere else? what do you all think?

NFL
College FB
College Hoops

I don't go there nearly as often as I should.

Shades it is!

Shades on the Loop is a great place for sports -- or just a dang good meal.....

and at least there is one place on the beach that appreciates NASCAR - there are only 75 million of us fans and I'd love to see a beefy football player drive 500 miles at 200 mph on a 25 degree bank for four hours -- and then let him tell me if drivers are atheletes.....I already know the answer to that -- CNN did a study

I digress....

Calypso has great screens, but I personally think the food is horrible. NEVER had a good meal there - and I have given it like four chances -- even the nachos were gross -- how do you mess up nachos??? But I do know that they have a following of football junkies...

I heard that Beef's is headed to the beach as well RP - haven't eaten at the one here, but have in other cities.....

Nascar8, how you feel about the food at Calypso's is how I feel about food at Hooters... but then you usually don't go to Hooters for the food....

Shades has the BEST Mahi sandwich...... wash it down with a few Purple Hazes, or some Sam Adams........ mmmmmm.....

Exactly

Right on Gomer 3333 ... of course you have heard other ones too....

Trishben - I don't do Hooter's period - their food leaves a lot to be desired - who decided they had good wings??? cuz they DON'T....

and I am not into looking a barbie dolls - now if they would have some Ken's around - I'd just drink first and then eat - cuz then it wouldn't make a difference!!!

And RIGHT ON ABOUT THE MAHI at Shades!! My fav!

Not that there is anything stock about it. They have to have pushrod V8's, carburetors, solid rear axles. It's not anything that's in any modern cars. It's all about making the cars the same, and letting the drivers "drive" the entertainment.
