Clearwater, Florida

Does anyone know where to go around the Clearwater area for a great seafood dinner and any other good activities in the area and surrounding area?

Troy154, sorry I cannot help you with that as we vacation at PC Beach but just wanted to welcome a fellow Tennessee resident to the board! I am sure someone in that area will respond. Here is a link to restaurant

reviews in Clearwater from Trip Advisor though. Hope this is helpful!

Troy!

One of my top three favorite restaurants of all time is on the causeway between Clearwater and Tampa, it's called The Castaway. The view is amazing, the food wonderful, and it's about 14 miles from Clearwater, well worth the drive. Amazing seafood, and they have a homemade cinnamon ice cream they serve over their apple pie that is to die for. They are located at 7720 W Courtney Campbell Cswy.

Crabby Bill's on the causeway in Clearwater is also good if you like cajun, crabs, very casual...

Hi Troy,

I forgot the Lobster Pot on Gulf Blvd in Reddington Beach...7 miles or so from Clearwater, http://www.lobsterpotrestaurant.com/ or the Salt Rock Grill in Indian Rocks Beach, both fabulous.

Have a great time, I would love to see your pictures from your trip. My family had a place in Indian Shores for most of my life, much of the best time of my life spent there, the area very dear to my .

If it was run like the one here, it may not be. My son worked at the one that was here in Memphis when he was 17 and 18. It went out of business. Had all the same things. Games inside. Rides outside. Miniature golf! Bumper boats. Go carts. There were two guys in their mid 20's running it. When they left the place went downhill, and ended up closing up. All the rides were sold. The place is boarded up and has been vacant for about 5 years. And it used to be a hopping place when they ran it. Hated to see it go!

Troy,

There are several botantical and butterfly gardens, science exhibits and other attractions in the Tampa area, which is right across the causeway. Here are a few of my faves:

USF Botanical and Butterfly Gardening (Tampa)
MOSI Bioworks Many scientific exhibits, great for kids (Tampa)
Busch Gardens (Tampa)
Salvadore Dali Museum (St. Pete)

And a pretty thorough list can be found here

Have a great time!!
Trish

hywayman is on a distinguished road
Leverocks is good.

We went to Disneyworld in 2000 and we stayed at Clearwater for a few days and we ate here. It was good. I would definately eat there again. JP.
