Exclamation I just can't stand it!!!!

Even though I just got back from a week in PCB not one week ago, I am planning another trip to PCB in early October! I have never been to PCB that late in the year, and I was wondering about the weather, and if it will be warm enough to swim, in the ocean or pool either one? We will be coming down maybe the 1st or 2nd week in October for just a few days. I am trying to plan another fishing trip, but it is just a get away before the lull of winter sets in. Any suggestions on what to do, what to see, or where to stay that time of year? I'm just guessing that PCB will be pretty empty that time of year, so we should have the run of the town!

We live about 4 hours north of PCB and sometimes make a quick trip down. The weather that time of year is very nice, moderate temperatures, light crowds. I think you'll enjoy it.

October is one of the best times of the year to visit IMO. True beach lovers will enjoy the smaller crowds and the fall sunsets.

If it's going to start snowing at your house in a month or two, then I'd better get my snow shovel out now!!
We were down there the week of Thanksgiving last year & liked so much that we've decided to make it a new tradition. The water probably won't be warm enough to swim in (unless you're a teenager), but it was a lot warmer than Indiana & the beach wasn't crowded.
I would imagine that Oct. would be much warmer, but fairly empty of tourists.
All of the restaurants would still be open, too!

Actually, I meant 2 months after my trip in October, but I get your point. Heck, I would go once a month every month if I could. The beach is the beach no matter what the temperature is

We love October! We come down the first week and have for several years now.No crowds. No traffic. Lots of good deals on places to eat. The water has always been warm enough to swim and the beach isn't people cheek to jowl!

Well, looks like we are staying at the Flamingo hotel. Anybody stayed there before? The website looks great and the price is right too....with a hot tub to boot! WHOOO HOOOO! I thought about staying at Mexico beach, but I just couldn't get away from Panama, I just like it too much. I'm just curious what else is around the hotel? I don't remember seeing it the last time I was down, but I wasn't looking for it either. I can't believe I get to visit PCB twice in one year! The next two months won't go by fast enough.

Flamingo

We stayed there, but it's been several years ago. If I remember correctly, they have a real nice area in the back with lots of tropical foliage, which I imagine would be pretty that time of year. The area isn't large, but as I said, was pretty. We stayed in the tower, which was new at the time, and was nice. Had ceiling fans over the beds, etc. It was clean and the beds slept fine. And they kept the pool nice. The only thing that I remember being a problem was parking, but we were there during peak, and that probably would not be a problem for you. Sorry I'm not more up-to-date, but I think that was the last year we did a hotel and started doing condos after that.

Thanks so much for the info. We would stay in a condo, but the one we want to stay in is a Saturday to Saturday stay, and we will only be there 5 days. I wish we could stay longer, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

We were having that problem with the Sat/Sat thing, too. But after peak season, most of them were willing to rent for a different time period, and at a higher daily rate. If you look at a lot of the calendars, they have weird days blanked out. You just have to ask them. I've gotten so used to a condo, I'm not sure I could go back to a hotel for a long stay!
