I may have the opportunity to make a short trip to Florida in early October. I have always visited Florida in the spring and summer, but never in the early fall. What do you think the air/water temps will be? will the fishing off the beach/pier/jetty still pretty good? I may try to take a boat trip on a party boat if I get the chance, but I don't know if that will happen or not. I just can't visit the beach and not wet a line or two, so if you have any info on fishing the gulf in the fall let me know.

Try the Pier. You should consider chartering a boat while you are down there. We charter one everytime we visit and always use the same people. I am sure there are a lot of great charters available, but we have always used Bobbie Robinette (Gotta Beleive). I am not too sure about the party boats. We tried that once and was pretty much disappointed.

Will the piers be open in October? I know they are planning on tearing the big pier down sometime soon, and I thought the smaller one was closed. Am I mistaken?
