Water Clear?

What's the water like right now? Beach cams seem to show it dark...not clear. Can anyone confirm? Seaweed in the water?

Last week the water was as pretty as I've ever seen it. It rivaled the carribean as far as clarity and color. Probably due to the lack of storms this summer. Nothing really stirring up the water for a few months now.

There was a bit of seaweed at the bottom under the water. Small patches. I didn't see any floating in the water and none on te shore.

I only checked out the east end of Thomas Drive (near Schooners and behind Regency Towers), so there could be more or less seaweed elsewhere.

ONe thing is for sure though - the water is the most beautiful emerald greeen and aqua blue as it's ever been. Stunning to me and I've lived here all my life!

We'll try and take a few pics today at lunch maybe.. and I'll post them.

Here are some pics from lunch... the water was a little rough today (yellow flags) and it was a little cloudy... so the water wasn't quite as clear or vibrant as it was last week.

Still looks great though.

And virtually no seaweed... which is unusual for this time of year....

Wow. Beautiful. Hope it's that beautiful when we get there. 24 days and counting. Yippee. I've started my countdown.

SWN, we are coming down again October 5th-11th, and I have been researching the weather a bit. From what I can find, the highs are in the low 80's in the day, and dipping down to 55-60 at night. Is that about right for that time of year? Is swimming in the pools/gulf still possible without it being too cold? I have never been down that late in the year.

Those temps are close... daytime will be in the 80s... maybe even close to 90... but nighttime will still be in the high 60's low 70s. Unless a cold front moves through... but, that's rare in October.

It's really still pretty warm in October.

Water temp will definitely be warm enough to swim. It'll feel pretty chilly when you get out at night... but the water temp will be around 78-80 probably.

Water's gorgeous right now, there is a little seaweed close to shore though. I will say though that it sure is HOT!
