has anyone heard of any big sharks being caught around the PCB area?

Hey bowhunter, I have caught several nice sharks fishing in PCB. I have not caught any with kickback charters but there are several charters down there that do shark only charters. Try checking with Capt. Phil Money at the Treasure Ship marina. I know he does a lot of shark fishing. The sharks that I have caught have been all over six feet long and are Bull Sharks. I will post some pics if you want to see some. Good luck down there and I wish I was going!

I don't know whether I want to see them. We are going to be down there in around two and a half weeks. Don't want to see any in the water where we are staying either.

No problem at all! I started fishing with a captain that was fishing out of St. Andrews marina named Larry Bean. He ran a charter called Affordable Charters. It was my second time out with him and he said that he specialized in shark fishing and asked if we wanted to do some of it. A lot of captains down there do not like to shark fish but thrived on it. We caught two nice sharks the first time we shark fished with him. From there on it was two time a year going out with him and catching at least one shark every time. The first one that we caught we made the mistake of bringing it on the boat. As you can see, that was a mistake, he made a complete mess of our boat! If you have never done it, you owe it to yourself to catch a big shark. It is an absolute rush! I will try to get some pics on the member photo forum soon.

actually, i have gone shark fishing multiple times on the gulf side of shell island and have caught primarily blacktips ranging from 5-7 feet. besides that i dont know of...you can also check over at treasure cove marina for possible shark fishing trips.

Bank/surf fishing or out of a boat?

Yeah, watched most of Shark Week and loved the large majority of it particularly the story about the SS Indianapolis. Then immediately went to Panama City Beach and just returned about 12 hours ago. Went boating in St. Andrews Bay and saw one stingray, over a hundred jellyfish and fortunately about 50 dolphin sightings. Weather was terribly hot but always a good time there regardless of heat.
