Big City Fish Announces "Island Idol"

Local Restuarant does "American Idol" themed event with grand prize trip to Key West


PANAMA CITY, FLORIDA - The local restaurant Big City Fish is proud to announce the upcoming event series, Island Idol. Done in the tradition of the television series American Idol, Big City Fish's Island Idol is a singing contest with a grand prize trip to Key West.

Island Idol begins on Sunday, September 16th and continues for 8 weeks. The winner from each Sunday's event, chosen by audience appluase, gets a $100 Big City Fish gift card and is qualified for the finals on November 18th. The winner of the finals receives an expense paid trip to Key West, Florida. Here are the full contest rules:
Contest Rules:

Contest will take place on Sundays, September 9, 2007 through November 18, 2007. The contest duration will be ten (10) weeks.
Each week the Island Idol Contest is limited to ten (10) contestants. Sign-up will be AFTER 5:00pm on each Sunday competition date.

Sign-up is on a first come, first serve basis. Sign-up number will be the order in which contestants perform.
Contestants may bring their own music, one (1)-song [CD+G format], or chose one (1) song from our Karaoke library.

Show time begins at 8:00pm and will last until that Sunday night contest is over.
The format of the contest is the following:

· Contest is open to vocal, non-lip synced, performance only

· At the end of the singing competition the winner will be chosen by the loudest applause - measured by a decibel meter

· The winner of each weekly contest is automatically entered into the finals, to be held on Sunday, November 18, 2007

· Any contestant, who doesn't win a weekly event/contest, can re-register any of the remaining weeks left of the competition.

· Winners of any weekly competition are not eligible to enter any other Island Idol, Sunday competition, following their win.

I went by this place the other day on the way home and it looks like they're closed and for sale or lease now. That's kind of a shame.
