I am not a writer. I am a runner. But, when I was asked to write an article for our newsletter, it didn’t take me long to decide what I wanted people to know about the Emerald Coast. I stepped outside for my morning run, breathed in a deep breath of clear cool air… there was just a hint of salty flavor in the air as I ran down one of my favorite little roads that hugs the beach. The sky was so blue – the sand so white – the water streaked with pretty variations of blue – deep blue, icy clear aquamarine, rich turquoise. There wasn’t a soul on the beach. I was glad to have it all to myself, but I thought, “People are crazy. They are missing the best time of the year!”

We're headed down there a week from today. We loved it last year at this time; mild weather, uncrowded beaches, lower rental rates. What's not to love?

Agreed! We had lunch on the beach today and the water and weather are as close to perfect as you can get. I love this time of year!

You guys are making me long for the beach. Heck, I long for the beach all the time. Wished I were sitting out on the beach eating lunch. It was a beautiful day here today though. Around 71 and sunny.

I had lunch at Schooners Friday - it was just incredibly beautiful! The sky is so clear... the water is awesome.

I love it this time of year! I'm glad most of the tourists don't know what they are missing.
